Let’s put our hands deep inside some brains and squeeze some knowledge out of them. Big brains, small brains you will be surprised with the things they can do.

Journey to the Centre of the Brain

Andrea Navas Olive (Postdoctoral Researcher in Neuroscience)
Jake Watson (Postdoctoral Researcher in Neuroscience)
There is an incredibly complex world inside your head. The human brain has amazing abilities, but we currently have really very little idea of how it's working (especially as spare brains aren't so easy to find!) Come with us on a journey to explore the details of the human brain, and hear the techniques we are using to try and untangle this incredible labyrinth.

The charming flying feathered monsters (and their tool-using abilities)

Antonio Osuna Mascaró (Animal cognition researcher)
Imagine the forest goblins were real. Imagine that they lived in a faraway tropical rainforest, that they played and tricked each other, that they had senses beyond our own, that they could make their own tools, and that they used complex processes to eat a fruit that would kill any of us. Now imagine if they could fly. These goblins are not only real, they are way cooler than anyone expected, they are the Goffin's cockatoos and I will be talking about our research on them.
