How big is infinity? Can infinities have different sizes, and is there a largest one of all? Georg Cantor devoted his life to these questions, developing a radical theory that transformed mathematics—one he believed was divinely revealed to him. His ideas were so shocking that they provoked fierce opposition from mathematicians, philosophers, and theologians. Almost alone, the giant David Hilbert defended Cantor, proclaiming, “No one shall expel us from the paradise Cantor has created.” This talk journeys into Cantor’s paradise—it's a story of obsession, daring ideas, brilliance, and madness.
