The space. Everything looks really big and empty. But is it?
There are a bunch of particles and some are still not known, but there are experiments trying to find them. Some search for Dark Matter, others for new elementary ones. Drop by and find out how close we are to finding something.

This event is part of the International Conference on Topics in Astroparticle and Underground Physics 2023.

What is common between Monte Carlo, Dark Matter, Crystals, Fridge and Mountains?

Valentyna Mokina (Postdoctoral Researcher in Rare Event Searches)
Did you ever ask yourself what can you do if you combine Monte Carlo, Dark Matter, Crystals, Fridge and Mountains? The answer is simple – Dark matter hunting. For example, like CRESST experiment does. Let’s dive deep together how and why it is done in this way and what you can discover?

Precision particle physics and the hunt for new phenomena

Gianluca Inguglia (Junior Group Lead in Particle Physics)
Is the so-called "standard model" of particle physics really the ultimate theory to describe the Universe at a fundamental level?
I don't think so.
In this special presentation I will introduce the successes and failures of the major framework that describes elementary particles and their interactions and discuss how precision tests can be used to get a glimpse of the unknown.
