Did you ever wonder if quantum plants exist? They don't but come and learn a bit more of both separately.
One Spin to Reveal Them All
Tayebeh Saghaei
(Postdoctoral researcher in Colloid and Biointerface Science)
Cells don’t talk, but they do move, and sometimes even spin. For years, scientists have developed powerful tools to understand biology, they have revealed a lot, but they also have limits. Most methods rely on labels and markers, yet cells have their own hidden language, written in their physical behavior. In this talk, I’ll show how we can uncover that hidden layer using a new analytical method.
Playing Games with Schrödinger's Dice
Phila Rembold
(Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Technologies)
Tom Rivlin
(Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Thermodynamics)
A bit of luck and chance is the spice that makes games more fun, but with quantum physics, we can take that to a whole new level. In this talk, we’ll ask the question: What if events had a negative chance of happening? It’s more likely than you think! Join us on a journey through the weirdness of the quantum world, told through one of the most iconic games of all time: Dungeons & Dragons.
