Rethinking Knowledge: From Skepticism to Swarm Intelligence

We normally think that we know quite a lot. But when we question whether we really know and consider the possibility that we might be mistaken, our confidence vanishes and we hestiate to claim that we know. So, what do we really know? And is questioning everything, as the skeptic does, just a cheap trick?

A honeybee colony is full of interactions: Thousands of individuals touch, move and communicate with each other in fascinating ways, forming one of the most intriguing communities in the natural world. However, even after thousands of years of close coexistence, it remains strangely alien to us, much of what happens inside the hive remains beyond our understanding. New technologies are beginning to change that by opening up entirely new perspectives on this hidden society, granting us entirely new perspectives on a world that, on closer look, turns out to be wonderfully alien.
