Fundamental research has been the source of advances in modern technology. One notable example is the laser. Lasers boast in their focused power and single frequency (‘colour’). Lasers have unlocked the mysteries of the universe and, at the same time, connected the world through communication. In this Pint Of Science, I aim to provide a stronger appreciation towards lasers through a basic and intuitive review of lasers and its significance.
